Lillian "Emily" Edwards

A mother holds her children's hands for a little while….and their hearts forever ~ Lillian "Emily" Edwards, 83, went to be with her Lord on April 23, 2014. She was born on October 17, 1930 in Newark Valley a daughter of the late Raymond and Edna (Brink) Hines. She was predeceased by her husband Jack "Bucky" Edwards, Jr. in 2005; her brothers George "Red" Hines, Raymond "Corky" Hines and a sister Louise VanVorce. Emily is survived by her six daughters Linda Fairlie of Apalachin, Cynthia and Mitch Nichols of Owego, Bonnie and Bill Moesch of Owego, Lucinda "Cindy" and Chet Moesch of Nichols, Lucille "Lucy" and Fred Bensley of Owego, Connie and Bill Meyers of CT; her sons Lloyd and Peg Edwards of Owego, Jack Edwards and Jo-An Moss of Apalachin. Her sister Hattie Testa of Owego, Brothers Mert (Pat) Hines of Newark Valley and Bob (Valona) Hines of Owego. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren: Wendy Kelly, Brandy Brown, Amanda Shelp, Billy Edwards, Wade Fairlie, Melissa Scott, Nicole Shoemaker, Corey Moesch, Jessica Edwards, Erica Bensley, Kari Bensley, Justin Meyers, Victoria Meyers and Emilie Edwards. 18 Great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law: Mary Hines of Cortland, Vivian Hines of Owego and Josephine "Lolly" Truesdail of North Carolina; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Emily retired from the Owego Treadway where she worked in the housekeeping department for 24 years. She loved watching and feeding the birds. Mom, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Saturday, May 3rd from 10-12 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Emily's life will follow at 12 noon with Pastor William Prentice, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Gibson Corners Cemetery.
