Louise M. Fenderson, 100, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, March 1, 2010. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Marjorie Dinsmore; Ronald and Claire Benedict, Joyce Gunsalus, Irene Drescher, Sharon M. Donahe, Shirley and Benjamin Nolt; Susan Smith and loving sister-in-law: Helen Donahe; several great nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Louise was predeceased by her husband Louis I. Fenderson in 1965; sisters Pearl Benedict, Marion Smith, brother Adrian Donahe, nephew Vaughn Smith and niece Nina Cote. Louise was born on January 18, 1910 in Afton, NY a daughter of the late John and Maggie (Harrington) Donahe. She was one of ten in the graduating class of 1927 from Bainbridge High School and later from the Ridley Lowell Business school. Louise and her husband owned and raced horses at Saratoga Raceway and Vernon Downs. Louise was an avid writer and shared many letters and cards with family and friends throughout the years. She was a member of the Nichols Presbyterian Church and served many years as secretary for the Nichols Senior Citizens Club. Louise is fondly remembered by her family and longtime friends in the Nichols community. A prayer service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel. A period of visitation will be held at the chapel from 10:30 until the time of the service. Interment will follow in the Riverhurst Cemetery.
