Lunora Gladys Brown, 88, of Dean Street, Owego passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011 following a period of declining health. Lunora was born on February 27, 1923 in Owego a daughter of the late Raymond Dewey and Dora Emma (Babcock) Brown. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Owego. Known for her love of cooking, Lunora worked at Amy's Dinner, Devils Elbow and Longo's. She enjoyed making afghans, canning, crocheting and sewing. Lunora is survived by her children: Elmer (Kathy) Apgar, William (Pat) Apgar and Mary (Donald) Mandaville; brother Elmer Brown; step children: Robert (Mary) Apgar; Richard McConnell; Betty (Roland) Bozman; and Lea Armstrong; half siblings: Edna Donavon, Shirley Brown, Susan Brown, Raymond Brown, Ella Mae Crawford; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and her church family and her cat Goldie also survive. She was predeceased by her mother Dora Lurcock; father Raymond Brown, sisters Edith, Stella, Alice, brothers Fred and William. Funeral services for Lunora will be held on Wednesday, November 30th at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Montrose Turnpike, Owego. The family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Nichols Cemetery.
