Douglas Wheaton, 74, of Warren Center, Pa passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015. Doug, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was born at home in Potterville, Pa a son of the late Glenn and Jean (Runyon) Wheaton. He was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School class of 1959 and proudly served his country with the US Army. On September 25, 1964, in Endicott, NY he married Marylea Perrino and together they made Warren Center their home and raised seven children. Doug treasured his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's events and sporting activities. He took great pride in restoring cars, especially his 1936 Chevy pickup truck. Doug was a member of the VCCA and served as co-founder for the annual Warren Center Cruise In held at the vintage Sinclair Gas Station. "If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever". Doug will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 51 years, Marylea; his children: Mark and his wife Karen Wheaton of Warren Center, Pa; Jodea and her husband Kevin Sweeney of Waverly, NY; Christine and her husband Steve Williams of Guadalajara, Mexico; Kyle and his wife Amy Wheaton of West Seneca, NY; Aaron and his wife Kimberly Wheaton of Towanda, Pa; Colleen Wheaton and her companion Eric Heffner of Towanda, Pa; Korrin Wheaton and her companion Jeremy Friedlander of Sugar Run, Pa; his brother and sister-in-law: Fred and Betty Wheaton of Warren Center, Pa; sister and brother-in-law: Kathleen and David Dickinson of Bunker Hill, W. VA; sister-in-law: Ruth Wheaton of Warren Center, Pa; his special grandchildren: Tyler and Anna Wheaton; Erin Leigh, Delanie, and Marnie Sweeney; Adam, Ethan and Derek Williams; Owen Wheaton; Jack and Hudson Wheaton; Dayton Douglas Benjamin, Tucker Huffman, Gabriella Friedlander; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Jean Wheaton; and his brother Walter "Bud" Wheaton. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, May 27th from 11 - 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols, NY. Funeral services and a celebration of Doug's life will follow at 1 pm. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Warren Center Cemetery.
