Margaret Bernardine Reed (nee Meder), 104, passed away and entered eternal life on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pennsylvania. Margaret was born March 10, 1920, in Philadelphia to the late Frederick & Alice (McDonnell) Meder. During World War II, Margaret worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in the engineering department doing classified work. She married George J. Reed on February 6, 1946 in Philadelphia. When her husband, George, developed tuberculosis, she had to go back to work and was employed by First Pennsylvania Bank. Upon retirement she moved to Warren Center, PA, to be near her daughter, Mary and her beloved grandchildren. She spent much of her retirement volunteering at Mom’s Place, Robert Packer Hospital, and cooking for priests and brothers of the church. When she couldn’t do that any longer, she prayed daily for all her family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick & Alice (McDonnell) Meder, her husband, George J. Reed, her son, Lance Corporal George J. Reed, Jr., and all her brothers and sisters, Mary Gormley, James Meder, Alice Maahs, Teresa Homa, and Frederick Meder, her nephews, Robert Gormley and Philip Gormley, Edward Monahan and Francis Monahan.

Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Gene Raymond, her grandchildren, James Reese, George Reese, Brigit Reese, and great grandchild, Cash Reese, Todd (Shelly) Raymond and Jason (Lori) Raymond, step great grandchildren Kelsey (Jon) Leubner, Katie Raymond, Kristina (Stephen) Tice, Collin Raymond, Justyn Raymond, Logan (Zackary) Crutchfield, and Mason Raymond; step great-great grandchildren: Reiley and Arianna Dahme, Charlie Crutchfield, Jayce and Jaydin Raymond, Levi, Eliannah and Hannah Leubner, and her beloved nieces and nephews: Alice Allsworth, James (Teresa) Brown, Susan (Clark) Brown, Sarah (Kenny) Campbell, Mary (Michael) Glynn, Donald (Terry) Gormley, Howard (Barbara) Gormley, William (Mary Ann) Gormley, Margaret (Thomas) Hogan, Patricia Kryszczun, Mary McFeeters, Stephen (Susan Hippensteele) Meder, Frederick Meder, Dennis (Pat) Monahan, John Monahan, Alice (Patrick) Murray, Patrick (Kim) Murray, Theresa Schwartz, Alicia Ward, Dolores Woodburn. and faithful friends, Linda & Joe Adornetto, Gail Croft, Gail Lutz, Liz Marley, Richard Mooney, Brother Paschal, Mary Shaughnessy and Theresa Sminkey.
