Marian E. Seymour

If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, we'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again…..Marian E. Seymour, 72, of Peck Hill, Rome, Pa passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Marian was born on April 14, 1944 in Camptown, Pa one of fourteen children to Arthur and Lona (Wells) Decker. She was a graduate of Towanda High School class of 1961. On February 15, 1962 in Towanda she married Robert M. Seymour and together they have shared fifty-four years of happiness. A talented seamstress, Marian worked for many years at Schapiro's Formal Shop in Endicott. Marian enjoyed camping, karaoke and treasured the time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by her husband Robert; her children: Edward M. Seymour of Sheshequin, Pa; Linda K. and her husband Tracy Yeagle of Windham; Stephen L. Seymour of Rome, Pa; Kevin R. Seymour and his fianc Jamie Walter of Little Meadows, Pa; her grandchildren: Eric Edward Seymour, Amelia Rose Seymour, Tyler Jacob Yeagle, Melinda Lee Seymour, Jarred Stephen Seymour, Ayla Marie Seymour, John Robert Seymour; her great grandchildren: Raelynn, Layla, and Chase; her siblings Frieda (Ronald) Smith of North Towanda; Helen Brown of Rome, Pa; Shirley Blemle of Rome, Pa; Pat Vanderpool of Standing Stone, Pa; Dorothy Hillard of Berkshire, NY; Peggy (Jim) Colby of Towanda; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Decker of Monroeton, Pa; a brother-in-law: William J. Dougherty of Pittsburgh, Pa. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. She was predeceased by her siblings: Gladys Hendershot, Vivian "Ruthie" Cass, Katie Stevens, Arthur Decker, Earle Decker, Howard Decker, Milton Deckar. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, May 16th from 10 am to 12 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow at 12 pm with Pastor Clinton Rice, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Valley Home Cemetery, Windham.
