August 15, 1920 — August 7, 2007

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home…Our loving wife, mother and grandmother Marie C. Buck went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Marie was born on August 15, 1920 the only child to Miles B. and Ethel A. (Rogers) Chilson. She was a graduate of Rome High School class of 1938. On May 27, 1944, Marie married S. Douglas Buck and together they celebrated 63 years of happiness. Marie was a devoted member of the Lounsberry United Methodist Church where she participated in UMW and assisted with the Food Pantry. In addition Marie was a former member of Tioga County Cornell Cooperative Extension and delivered many meals to the homebound with Meals on Wheels. Marie enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time in her garden~and was known for her beautiful flower gardens. She was a collector of stuffed Teddy Bears and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds visit her feeders. Marie's greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family and she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren. Marie is survived by her husband Doug; her son and daughter-in-law Gale M. and Jackie Buck of Spencer; her daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon Lindhorst of Lounsberry; Roe and Gary Stone of Greene; Brenda J. and Bill Decker of Lounsberry. Her special grandchildren Will and his wife Jess Merrill; Day Merrill; Travis and his wife Mandy Fisher; Travis Miles Buck; Nicole Buck; and a great grandson Gavin Ray Fisher. A period of visitation and sharing will be held on Saturday, August 11th from 12:30 pm until 2 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to the Lounsberry United Methodist Church, c/o Mr. Dave Barnhart, Sulpher Springs Rd., Owego, NY 13827 in loving memory of Marie C. Buck.
