Masu "Dotty" K. Vanderpool

Dotty K. Vanderpool, 79, of Litchfield. Pennsyvlania (RD 1 Sayre, Pa) passed away Monday morning, March 1, 2010 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Towanda Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health. Affectionately known as "Dotty" by her family and friends, she was born on November 20, 1930 in Japan a daughter of Metukata and Naka Kasakawa. On January 12, 1955 she married Arba J. Vanderpool and together they raised six children. Dotty enjoyed spending time tending to her flower gardens, crocheting and being surrounded by her grandchildren. In addition to her husband Arba, Dotty is survived by her children: David (Bona) Vanderpool, Johnny (Jacqueline) Vanderpool, Larry (Beva Southworth) Vanderpool, Nancy (Curtis) Brown, Dale (Brenda) Vanderpool, Leona (Tony) DiCenso; a brother Katahiro and sister Motoko both of Japan; her grandchildren: David Jr., Aron, Steven, Alan, Audra, Joshua, William, Corey, Jesse, Jessica, Dominic, Anthony; many great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Leona VanDuzer, James (Victoria) Vanderpool, Bessie (Robert) Porter, Verna Gesford, Enos (Patricia) Vanderpool, Glenn (Linda) Vanderpool, Kathy (Dale) Stack, Rosemary (Richard) Bartleson, Ernest (Sharon) Vanderpool. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Dotty was predeceased by her sisters Samiko and Toshiko; a brothers-in-law William Vanderpool and Chester VanDuzer and a sister-in-law Viola Vanderpool. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Thursday, March 4th from 6 -7 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service and celebration of Dotty's life will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Larry Jennings, officiating.
