A mother holds her children's hands for a little while and their hearts forever......Maxine C. Jones, 91, of Potterville, Pa passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, June 4, 2016. A life-long resident of Potterville, Maxine was born on July 12, 1924 a daughter of Hewlett Allyn and Hazel (Kilmer) Corbin. She attended school in Orwell in in 1942 graduated from LeRaysville High School. She continued her schooling at Mansfield and received her teaching certificate in 1945. Maxine shared her love by teaching first grade at Tioga Central School District and later taught for thirty-nine years at Northeast Bradford retiring in 1985. On April 20, 1946, she married Carlton C. Jones and together they shared sixty-eight years of marriage until his passing on August 25, 2014. Maxine was a devoted member of the Dille Parish United Church of Christ ~ Potterville where she participated with the choir and was director of the junior choir. She was an avid reader and founding member of the Northeast Bradford Student Loan Fund. Maxine is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Diane and Paul Milnes of Tunkhannock; Jacquelyn and Ronald Lawrence of Monroeton; a son and daughter-in-law: Leo and Susan Jones of Binghamton; a sister Betty Sisto of Waverly; her grandchildren: Adam (Julie) Milnes, Carolyn Jones and Trevor Jones; a great granddaughter Hazel Marie Milnes; nephews: Angelo Sisto and Thomas VanZile and their families also survive. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Thursday, June 9th from 10:30 - 11: 30 am at the Dille Parish United Church of Christ ~ Potterville. A memorial service and celebration of Maxine's life will follow at 11 am with Rev. Tom Burlington, D. Min. and Sharon Rockefeller, Home Bound Minister, officiating.
