Mrs Joyce Johnson Lason

Joyce Johnson Lason, 90, entered her new life with Jesus her Savior on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edward in 2003; also by a grandson Jeremiah Edward Lason, a son Edward Harris Lason, her parents Harris and Marion Johnson and a sister Phyllis French. Joyce is survived by her loving sons and daughter-in-law: Mark and Sue Lason of Trumansburg; Karl Lason of Apalachin; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandsons; her sister Lynette (John) Barr of Florida; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Joyce was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Vestal. She was a graduate of the first class of Vestal High School in 1940. Joyce cherished her life as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. During World War II she worked at IBM Endicott and later spent several years as a real estate agent. Her memory will live forever in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services and a celebration of Joyce's life on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 12 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Rev. Roger Knapton, officiating. Interment will follow in the Nichols Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the service at noon.
