Myra L. Whitmore

Myra L. Whitmore, 92, formerly of Owego passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Dar-Way Nursing Home in Forksville, Pa. Myra was born on March 7, 1921 in Avis, PA a daughter of the late Alfred H. and Elizabeth (Fisher) Lupold. Myra was a member of the Owego and Candor Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Myra will be greatly missed by her children: Verna Miller, Myron (Shirley) Whitmore, Ronald (Gloria) Whitmore, Paul (Dianne) Whitmore, Gary Whitmore; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. her siblings: Thelma Conser, Bertha Stout, Olive Kaufman, Patricia Moltz; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Myra was predeceased by her husband LaVerne in 1985; her son Terry in 1994; John in 2004; grandchildren: Glenn Whitmore and Bonnie Miller; step children: Laverne Jr., Maxine, Glenn and Louise; siblings: Leman, Paul, Calvin, Raymond, Robert, George, Grace, Rachel. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, September 18th from 4 to 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Myra's life will be held on Thursday, September 19th at 11 am at the funeral chapel with Rev. Aaron Schian and Pastor Loretta Perry, officiating. A period of visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10 to 11 am at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Gibson Corners Cemetery.
