Nancy J. Blakeslee, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Born on January 29, 1947, in Shades Creek, Pennsylvania. Nancy's life was marked by a love for her family and a tenacious perseverance through life’s ups and downs.
Nancy is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Laurieann Keiper; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Lena and Gordon Argot; her seven grandchildren, Samantha, Ross, Luke, Rebecca (Jeffrey) , Nathaniel, Kaylene, and Ethan. As well as five great-grandchildren Ryleigh, Shyanah, Ella, William, and Olive. Nancy's brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Barbara Blakeslee, along with several nieces, nephews, and their families survive her. As well as the father of her children, Marlin "Sam" Keiper.
Formerly of Pocono Lake, Pennsylvania, Nancy moved to Rome, Pennsylvania in 2008 to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law. This move brought her new friends in the congregation of Bumpville Bible Church, where she remained an active member. She found solace and strength in attending the Ladies Bible Study group and valued the bond she shared with her church family.
Nancy was an avid baker, known for her exquisite cakes, pies, and cookies. Her hands lovingly crafted several wedding cakes for family members, including her daughter's—a testament to her skill and generosity. In addition to her culinary talents, she enjoyed sewing and ceramics. She relished any opportunity to shop for her great-grandchildren and loved to give gifts.
In her passing, Nancy leaves behind many happy memories, especially in the minds of her grandchildren and young great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those who knew her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Hilda (Altemose) Blakeslee; her infant brother Earl; and her siblings, Harvey (Anne) Blakeslee, Marlene (Willis) Fisher, Loretta Willmann.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of her life on Sunday, December 15th at 2 pm at the Bumpville Bible Church with her Pastor Ben Miller, officiating.
