Nancy L. Walter

Nancy Louisa (Russell) Walter, 71, of Apalachin, passed away on February 19, 2023 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. Nancy was born on December 9, 1951 a daughter of the late Robert and Pat Russell. She was raised in Vestal and graduated from Vestal High School. She was hardworking, kind, and thrived to take care of all people in her waitress and customer service employment. Nancy loved to spend time in her garden (her main past time), puzzles and board games. She treasured spending holidays and celebrations with family. She will be remembered as having a hilarious witty sense of humor, unique laugh that everyone will miss.

Nancy will be missed by her daughter and son in law, Kate and John Ortu, her son Marley Walter, sisters Pam Russell, Margaret Russell, Jodee Russell, and a brother Bob Russell. Her Granddaughter Rilynn Ortu, grandson Owen Ortu. Many nieces, nephews, numerous friends and family that loved her. Waiting for her in heaven were her parents Robert and Pat Russell, and her sister Ellen.

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, February 27th from 3 to 4 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service will follow at 4 pm. The family will also gather on Sunday, March 5th from 1 – 4 pm at the Owego Original Italian, Lake Street, Owego, NY
