When someone you love becomes a memory….the memory becomes a treasure. Surrounded by his loving family, Nathan L. Snyder, 47, of North Orwell, Pennsylvania (Comstock Rd., Ulster, Pa) went to his heavenly home and to be reunited with his father on Monday, September 19, 2011 following an ongoing and courageous battle with Cancer. Nate as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born on November 20, 1963 in Towanda, Pa a son of Shirley L. (Moore) and the late William J. Snyder. He was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School class of 1982 and owned and operated Nate Snyder Building and Remodeling. On June 30, 1984, he married his best friend and sweetheart Brenda Barber and together they raised three children. Nate's greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by his family. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and traveling to Canada. He will be greatly missed by his family and so many friends. In addition to his mother Shirley Snyder of North Orwell, Pa; he is survived by his wife Brenda of twenty-seven years; his children, a daughter Alicia Snyder of Towanda, Pa; his sons Kyle Snyder and Shane Snyder at home; his sister and brother-in-law: Shawn and Doug Russell of LeRaysville, Pa; Bill Snyder, Jr., of North Orwell; Neal Snyder of North Orwell; his mother-in-law: Marge Murphy; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Leeonda and Everett Thoman; Rhonda Ham; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Nate was predeceased by his father William J. Snyder, Sr. on August 11, 2008; a sister-in-law: Julia Roy on September 9, 2007; maternal grandparents: Lloyd and Ruth (Smith) Moore; his paternal grandparents: George and Mamie (Chaffee) Snyder. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services for Nate on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Terry Parks and Pastor Larry Jennings, officiating. A private family interment will be held in the North Orwell Cemetery. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Thursday, September 22nd from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral chapel.
