Our hearts are heavy with the passing of our father, Neil C. Hall Jr. Born May 6th, 1935, Neil grew up in Tioga Center and worked for IBM in Owego for 31 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. After retirement, Neil, and his wife Louise, spent many years traveling and most all summers at their cottage on Oneida Lake enjoying the company of neighbors with whom they would remain very close personal friends their entire lives. Family was always first for Neil. We gathered with family almost every month for thirty years at Neil and Louise's home in Lounsberry. Our get togethers continued even after Neil and Louise could no longer remain in their home, convening at Riverview Manor Nursing Home. Neil was salt of the Earth, given his humble upbringing, he was among the best and most noble of his kind. Neil remained very close with many of his childhood buddies from Tioga Center right up to the very end. To name just a few...Ernie Blaasch, Bill Eiklor and the Dougherty boys (Ron, Milt and Herb). He also very much enjoyed catching up on gossip bright and early almost every morning at Gail's Diner in Nichols. Neil was most proud of his contribution as a founding board member of CCNN of Nichols. He was also incredibly proud of his long-time involvement with the Tioga Alumni Association. We cannot thank Riverview Manor Nursing Home and their fine staff enough for the love and care they provided our father. Many of you have become like family. There is nothing we could say which might be sufficient to demonstrate our gratitude for your support over these last few years. Neil is predeceased by his wife Louise. He is survived by his brother David Hall, sister Cindy Hall and brother-in-law Ernie Orsbourn; His son Curt (Tammy) Hall and his daughter Linda (Mat) Laba. He loved his two grandchildren Kristina (Shawn) Hovencamp and Dan (Christal) Hall with all his heart. Neil treasured his great grandchildren Jalisa (Jacob Ferriter), Kyle, Bret and Connor Hovencamp; Nate and Rylee Hall. Also, many nieces and nephews; a very special neighbor and friend, Nancy Glasgow. He leaves behind a best friend and angel Pat White, who was beside him to the very end. May God bless Pat for her kindness. Due to the pandemic, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private family graveside service.
