Norma W. Searles

Norma W. Searles, 96, of Ellis Creek Rd., Waverly, NY died peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 26, 2017. Norma was born on July 29, 1920 in the Town of Barton a daughter of the late Ward and Gertrude (Cornell) Williams. She was a graduate of Spencer High School and attended Ridley Business School. For many years, Norma was a bookkeeper for Universal Credit in Binghamton and the Walker Motor Sales in Waverly. On June 27, 1942 in Lockwood, she married Earl C. Searles together they shared 65 years of marriage until his death on December 18, 2007. A devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Norma shared her love of scripture at Bible lessons. She and Earl enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and until the age of 90 had a garden at her home. Norma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Dale E. and Babs Searles; her daughter and son-in-law: Dawn L. and John Fay; all of Waverly; her grandchildren: Cory (Tammy) Searles, John (Suzann) Fay, Kevin (Katie) Searles, Sheila Fay; her great grandchildren: Abby, Devin and Aidan. She is also survived by her siblings: Nancy Eberlin and Lawrence Williams. Norma was predeceased by her parents, her husband Earl and brother Howard Williams. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, February 4th at 1 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 22 Circle Dr., Waverly, NY with Elder Devin Teeter, officiating.
