Norman L. Horton, 71, of River St. passed away on Monday, November 12, 2007 following a period of declining health. Norm was born on September 29, 1936 in Windham, Pa a son of the late Clifford and Eva Margaret (Doane) Horton. He was a veteran of the US Army and a former employee of the Owego Water and Sewer Company. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, driving his red truck and going to the truck stop for coffee. Norm is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 42 years, Lillian (Wilcox) Horton; his brothers Gordon Horton, Doug (Vivian) Horton, and Dick Horton; his sister Joan (Pete) Mosher; daughter-in-law Cora Arnold; sister-in-law: Alice Welfel; grandchildren Ray J. (Laurie) Arnold; Laura Turner; great grandchildren Aaron, Ashley, Adam, Andrew, Amy Jo, Kristopher, Megan, Mikayla and Derrick. Several nieces, nephews, and his special dogs Peanut and Toodles also survive. He was predeceased by his stepchildren Joyce Arnold and Sheridan Ray Arnold. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services and a celebration of Norm's life on Friday evening, November 16th at 7 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South MainSt., Nichols with his pastor Rev. Daniel Martin, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Nichols Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 pm.
