Orin P. White

Orin P. White, 83, of Red Brush Road, Nichols, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Owego. A life long resident of Nichols, Orin was born on October 13, 1924. Orin was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, collecting Indian relics and enjoyed sharing stories with his family and friends. He is survived by his children: Margo Babcock of Nichols; Paul (Mavis) White of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa; Martha (Greg) Rogers of Nichols; Donna Quick of Canton, Pa; daughter-in-law: Wanda White of Nichols; sister-in-law Hazel White of Athens; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Arlene (Maslin) White; son: Ronnie White; son-in-law Walter Quick; brothers: Walter, Pearl, Ralph and Lawrence; infant sisters: Eunice and Ruth; son-in-law: Archie "Buster" Babcock. Funeral services for Orin will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Lounsberry. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral chapel.
