William F. Reynolds, known affectionately as "Painter Bill," passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023, in Camp Hill, PA. Born on November 23, 1957, at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, while his father was stationed there. Bill was a kind, friendly, and gentle soul who touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity.
Bill was the beloved son of Donald William and Betty Lou Reynolds. He was a loving father to his daughter, Jennifer Landreth, and a devoted partner to his girlfriend, Chris Walter. He was a cherished brother to Doug (Helen) Reynolds, Rebecca Sue (Tom) Elston, Diana Babcock, Joanna (Charlie) Heyman, Jessica Johnston (Mark Delill), and Georgianna Reynolds (Paul Card). He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of long-time friends.
Bill was a proud graduate of Tioga Central High School. His commitment to service was evident from an early age, and he dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving his country. Bill served in the US Air Force visiting Korea twice and served during Operation Desert Storm, a period of his life that he held in high regard. His service was a testament to his bravery, dedication, and patriotism.
Known as 'Painter Bill,' he left his mark on many homes and local landmarks, infusing his work with the same warmth and dedication he brought to every aspect of his life. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for walking, hiking, hunting, canoeing, and fishing. He was looking forward to walking the Apalachin Trail before his illness, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for nature.
Bill had an innate ability to connect with people, often visiting with folks along his walks. His friendly demeanor and kind heart made him a beloved figure in his community. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart."
