Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear. Our hearts were saddened on Saturday morning, September 27, 2008 with the passing of our husband, father and grandpa, Paul L. Barnhart, 73, of Stanton Hill Road, Nichols. Paul is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Patricia A. (Miller) Barnhart; his sons and daughters-in-law: Kevin and Cindy Barnhart of Nichols; David and Terry Barnhart of Lewisbery, Pa; Tom and Michelle Barnhart of Wilmington, DE; sisters and brothers-in-law: Allison and Leslie Corl of Lewisburg, Pa; Gail and Harry Whitman of Boalsburg, Pa; sister-in-law Louise Lowery of Flemington, Pa; six special grandchildren: Michelle, Ann, Jessica, Dan, Rachel and Joshua. Paul was born on November 19, 1934 in Orviston, Pa a son of the late William W. and L. Josephine (Poorman) Barnhart. He was a veteran of the US Navy and proudly served his country from 1952-1956. On October 16, 1955 in Blanchard, Pa he married Patricia A. Miller and together they made Nichols their home. Paul was a member of the Lounsberry United Methodist Church. He retired from IBM Owego following 29 years of service. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and being outdoors. In addition, he loved to spend time woodworking and was a very talented carpenter. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Paul's life on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 6pm at the Lounsberry United Methodist Church, with his pastor Rev. Jon Austin, officiating. A time of gathering and sharing will follow the service.
