Pearl Joyce (Hunt) Cobb Marshall, 95

of Athens, Pa and formerly of LeRaysville, Pa

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Pearl Joyce (Hunt) Cobb Marshall on November 22, 2023, after a brief illness. She was 95 years old. She was born at home on August 2, 1928, the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Grace Hunt. Pearl's early years were spent in Orwell, PA, where she attended school and then graduated in 1946 from LeRaysville High School, where she played in the high school band.

A lover of music, Pearl played the organ to the delight of her family and friends. She especially enjoyed Polka and country music. Pearl also loved to dance, a passion that endured throughout her life. For over three decades, Pearl was a familiar face at the Red and White store in LeRaysville, where she not only worked diligently, but also became a cherished friend to countless customers. Her friendly smile and positive attitude left a lasting impression on the community she served.

In 1950, Pearl married Walter W. Cobb, and they made their home in LeRaysville. Together, they raised three children. Walter passed away in 1993, leaving a void in her heart. In 2007, Pearl found love once more and married Edward Marshall. They shared an interest in gardening at their home in Rome, PA, and enjoyed winters together in Florida. Sadly, Ed passed away in 2017 after ten years of marriage. In her final years, Pearl resided in Athens, PA, where she continued to share her love through her hobby of crocheting, creating beautiful afghans for friends and family. Her time was also enriched by the companionship of friends in senior citizens groups in Nichols, NY, and Athens, PA. Her kindness, warmth, and infectious smile will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family was the cornerstone of Pearl's life, her handprint will be left to be cherished by her three children: Ruth Lengacher of Arcadia, Florida; Terry Cobb (Sheila) of Wyalusing, PA; and Denise Walters of Athens, PA. Her stepchildren: Sherelyn “Sherrie” Teabo and Edward C. Marshall and their families. Pearl was the proud grandmother to her six grandchildren: Raquel Washington of Bradenton, FL; Mandy Townsend (Casey) of Roxbury, MA; Terrah Adams (Nathan) of Wilkes-Barre, PA; Troy Cobb (Alyssa) of Boise, ID; and Casie Wolwelko (Nick) of Miami, FL; Chris (Holly) Walters of Lloydsville, OH. Pearl was also blessed with ten great grandchildren: Latece Luther, Jasmine Luther, Victoria Washington, Lennon Adams, Oliver Adams, Rye Townsend, Karson Walters, Kash Walters, Kris Walters, and Noah Wolwelko, as well as several nieces, nephews and their families. Pearl was predeceased by her parents Fred and Grace Hunt, a brother and sister-in-law Maurice and Gladys Hunt, and a sister and brother-in-law Winola and Ralph Casselbury. As we say our final goodbyes to Pearl, let us remember the twinkle in her eyes, the music in her heart, and the love she so generously shared. May she find eternal peace, dancing among the stars, forever in our hearts.
