Pearle Arnold Betzko

Pearle Arnold Betzko, 81, of RR1, (Rome Twp) Ulster, Pa went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Pearle was born on March 17, 1926 in Litchfield, Pa a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Decker) Maslin. She was a graduate of Athens High School. On April 6, 1945 she married Lloyd Arnold and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Pearle and Lloyd owned and operated a family farm in Litchfield until his passing in 1995. In addition she was employed at Farmer's Bank of Athens, JJ Newberry's, Sayre Lingerie and the Tioga Nursing Facility. She enjoyed sewing, painting, crocheting, reading and spending time with her family. On August 30, 1996, she married Joseph F. Betzko, together they enjoyed traveling, taking walks and the companionship of each other. In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Anita and Robert Bennett of Litchfield, Donna and Stuart Brink of LeRaysville, Shirley and Keith Young of Litchfield, Denise and Dave Viele of Greene, NY; her son and daughter-in-law Dan and Nancy Arnold of Bumpville; brothers and sisters-in-law Roger and Martha Maslin of Melbourne, Fla; Donald and Doris Maslin of N. Rome, sister-in-law: Genevieve Maslin of Oregon; sisters and brothers-in-law: Grace Maple, of Niles, IL; Betty Grimley of Athens; Vivian and Willis Arnold of Athens, Rita and Roger McManus of Morton Grove, IL; Janice and Ivan Purdy of Vestal NY; her special grandchildren: Adrian (Stacy) Gorsline, Deidra (Mario) Bobet, Tim (Cindy) Brink, Tyler (Maryesther) Brink, Eric (Margaret) Brink, Jai Arnold and fiance Jessica Pope; Carrie (Nathan) Freeman, Amber Young, Trish Young, Heather (Abe) Brister, Jason Forrest, Kyle DeWolf, Aaron DeWolf, Audrey DeWolf, Dennis DeWolf, Todd Morgan and Jessica Morgan, seventeen great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Pearle was predeceased by her father Robert in 1949, mother Ruth in 1991, her first husband Lloyd Arnold in 1995, brothers Paul and Carl. A time of remembering the special gift Pearle was to all of us will be held on Tuesday, November 20th at 12 noon at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols with Pastor Ron Dyer and Pastor Ron Head, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Bumpville Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held at the funeral chapel ON TUESDAY FROM 10 am until the time of the service.
