Pennie Helton

Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God offered you, and quietly left us all.....Our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend Pennie Helton, 43, of Owego passed away on Wedensday, October 31, 2012. Pennie is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Mark Helton, her son Luke Helton, both at home, her parents James W. Rogers and Frances (James) Tyler; brother James W. Rogers, Jr.; her mother-in-law Patsy Dillon; Mark's grandfather Harry Goot. Pennie was predeceased by her grandparents: James T. and Neva M. Rogers, Marjorie and James Coney. Pennie was a graduate of Owego Free Academy and was employed as a Nurses Aid for Kimberly Quality Care. Dedicated to her family, Pennie enjoyed baking and cooking during the holiday times. She also looked forward to attending football games and cheering on her favorite player, Luke. Pennie, may you find comfort in the arms of the angels. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Sunday, November 4th from 5 to 7 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Pennie's life will be held on Monday, November 5th at 11 am at the funeral chapel. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Gibson Corners Cemetery.
