Phyllis Marie Evans

April 17, 1931 — March 10, 2012

Phyllis Marie Fuller Evans of Rome, Pennsylvania, was called home to be with her Lord and Savor early Saturday morning, March 10th 2012. Phyllis was dearly loved by everyone who was blessed to have known her. Her loving heart encompassed the world and she treasured everyone God brought into her life. She will always be remembered for her love, kindness and heartfelt hugs. She was truly a Proverbs' woman: Proverbs 31. No greater legacy could a wife and mother bestow upon her family. Phyllis leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Ollin O. Evans and two daughters, Nioma Evans Cox (Dennis Cox) and Cindy Evans. As well as three sisters: Mary Greeno, Berdena Foster, and Margene Murphy and one brother, Norman Fuller, plus a host of other loving family and friends. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Leo J. Fuller and Myra Isabelle Westbrook Fuller, her two sons Robert E. and Roy J. Evans, as well as her daughter-in-love Grace Gilbert Evans and four brothers; Luther, John, Leo and Raymond and one sister, Arlene Fuller Jackson, as well as one great-grand child Dylan Marshall. Phyllis and Ollin were blessed with four children, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. They also shared their home with various nieces and nephews. Their home was always the gathering place for family and relatives. The chairs around their table were always filled with people who were invited in ‘to sit a spell', have a cup of coffee or a glass of ice cold tea. Holidays were happy times of sharing and caring for the people that found their way to the bountiful table that Phyllis loaded down with her delicious cooking. Phyllis made everyone that she came into contact with feel as the most important person in the world to her. Ask anyone in her family as to which one was her favorite and each would fervently reply, "Me!!" And each one would be exactly right. The lives of everyone who knew her will forever be enriched because God chose to grace this world with this most incredibly loving person. For this each one will always be profoundly grateful. We say to Phyllis, "Rest in the arms of your heavenly Savor, knowing that you made a huge difference in our lives." God says to Phyllis,"Well done my good and faithful servant. Welcome into your day of rest." And so, with much love and great sadness we let her go until that day when God calls us home. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Phyllis' life on Friday, March 16 at 11 am at the Herrickville Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Jason Laudermilch, officiating. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held at the church from 10 am until the time of the service.
