Raymond L. Greene

A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. Raymond Lester Greene, 89, of Sayre, Pa passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, November 21, 2018 at the Sayre House. Raymond was born on August 23, 1929 in Barton, NY a son of Chester A. and Hazel (Washburn) Greene. He attended school in Athens and graduated High School in Harrisburg. On August 17, 1963 in Litchfield, Pa Raymond married Grace Nichols and together they have shared 55 years of marriage. For over twenty-five years Ray was employed as a machinist at Ingersoll-Rand and later as an auto mechanic for Novack's Gas Station. Ray and Grace enjoyed spending time in their motor home and attending antique car shows. Raymond will be greatly missed by his wife Grace M. Greene; his son: Raymond (Sandy) Greene of Dushore, Pa;a step-son Marc O. (Cathy) Terpko of Delaware; His grandchildren Dawn Marie Young of Dushore, Pa and Raymond Greene, Jr. of Muncy Valley, Pa; a great grandson Landon; a sister Reva Collins; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families also survive. Raymond was predeceased by his parents Chester A. and Hazel Greene and a sister Ruth Clearwater in 2015. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, November 25th from 2 to 4 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St. Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of Raymond's life will be held at 4 pm. Interment will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa.
