Richard A. Kresge, 86, of Barton, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Elderwood Healthcare Facility in Waverly. Richard was born on November 10, 1931 in Vestal, NY a son of Ralph B. and Gladys Edna (Mason) Kresge. He was a graduate of Union Endicott High School and proudly served his country with the US Army. On September 26, 1953 Richard married Erika K. Fasser and together they raised four children. Following an honorable discharge in June 1959 he went to work for General Electric in Westover for one year and then to IBM Owego for 27 years and retired in 1987. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1536, Sayre, Pa; member of the Nichols American Legion Post 1624, Member of the United State Forces Austria Association; member of the NRA and IBM Quarter Century Club. Richard enjoyed watching racing and seeing deer and animals that would visit his home. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife of sixty-four years Erika; his children: Ralph R. and Barbara Kresge; Christine and Doug Nichols; Dolores Kresge and Lora Kresge; his sister Susan E. Kresge. Six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and trapping friend Larry LaDue. He was predeceased by his parents. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of his life on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
