Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all…..Roger F. Park, 85, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 14, 2012 at his home. Roger is survived by his wife Janice of 64 years, daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Dennis Wilson of Harpursville; granddaughters: Dawn and Curtis Salzman; Tricia and Michael Jewson; great grandchildren: Craig and Brett Salzman, Danielle and Eric Jewson all of Binghamton. A life long resident of Nichols, Roger was born on December 6, 1926 the son of the late Bert and Bessie (Rogers) Park. He was a graduate of Nichols High School class of 1945. On August 15, 1948 he married Janice Wood and together they shared many beautiful sunrises and sunsets and trips to all 50 states. Roger was a retired machinist for Ingersoll Rand. Family, home, friends and traveling were some of his favorite past times. In addition, he also helped with building houses. As a master woodworker, he loved creating scroll saw art and displaying at the Sayre Farmers Market and craft shows in Floirda. Roger fished all his life with his dad as he was growing up. He and Jan enjoyed going to his daughter and son-in-law's cottage at Canadrago Lake to help rebuild their cottage. He always found time to go out on their pontoon boat to fish.
