Roger L. Briggs

Roger L. Briggs, of Tioga Center, New York passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011 with his family by his side. Roger was born on May 4, 1949 in Johnson City, NY a son of the late Spencer and Wilma (Roger) Briggs. He was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1970 to 1972. Roger was former employee of Joe Trabucco Chevrolet and Scovelle-Meno. He was an avid sports enthusiast enjoying football and racing. Roger is survived by his daughter Irene (Donald) Harding, son Roger G. (Ellie) Briggs all of Tioga Center; the mother of his children Dawn Bourton; his siblings: Spencer (Janice) Briggs, II; Ken and (Laura) Briggs all of Nichols; sisters Billie Floyd of Candor; Penny Burrow of TX; his special grandchildren: Kyle, Abigail, Ronald, Brittney, Dillon, Maverick, Chance, Justin (Patti), Lance and Luke (Justine); several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother James Briggs. Funeral services for Roger will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd at 12 noon at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. The family will receive their friends from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Nichols Cemetery.
