Ronald Andrew Katchuk passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. For anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Ron, he was young at heart and was a rolling stone full of life. He was born to Andrew and Irene (Moore) Katchuk in Johnson City, New York. Ron had a great childhood and grew up in Nichols, New York with his surviving siblings, Larry and his wife Charlene Katchuk of Nichols and Rebecca and her husband Dale Bennett of Pennsylvania. Ron was a graduate of Tioga Central High School. Ron is survived by his two daughters and their families: Christina and husband Matthew Alexander of Florida, Tricia and husband Ricardo Babilonia of Pennsylvania. Papa Ron was very proud of his grandchildren: Kaitlin, Aubrey, Madison, and RJ (Ricardo Andrew). Coming from a background of a hard-working father and business-minded mother, Ron learned to be business savvy at a young age. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to develop the businesses of Brass N' Things and later Haulin' Oak. His extensive knowledge of antiques, oak furniture, historical artifacts, and classic cars was unparalleled. He would often be seen around town heading to car shows and antique auctions in one of his beloved Corvettes with some Classic Rock tune blasting from the radio with an infectious smile on his face and his blue eyes twinkling. Ron loved living in Gettysburg and would often spend hours in the battlefields. One of Ron's proudest moments was to be featured on a hit television show where he was able to showcase his knowledge of military armaments. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, and he loved to have a good time. One of his favorite artists, Rod Stewart sang it best: May the good Lord be with you down every road you roam. And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home. And my you grow to be proud, dignified and true. And do unto others as you'd have done to you. Be courageous and be brave. And in my heart you'll always stay. Forever young. Ron was always his happiest when he had a Fun Day. He truly lived his American dream. He will be missed by all that were blessed to know him. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 1 to 3 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
