Roy E. Vandervort

Roy Everett Vandervort, 61, of Little Meadows, Pa passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa following a period of declining health. Roy was born on March 20, 1953 in Sayre, Pa a son of the late Clarence E. and Esther Beynon Vandervort. For many years, he served as a custodian at the Owego Apalachin School District. He enjoyed hunting and always had a good story to share with his friends. He will be missed by his sisters and brothers: Joyce Vandervort, Sue Ellen Carrington, Carl (Laura) Vandervort all of Warren Center, Pa; Karen (Alton) Dymond, of Owego, NY; Lorrie (Jack) Rogers of Endicott, NY; Megan Horton of Owego; Tim Vandervort and Jeff Vandervort both of Warren Center; his close friends Laurie and Joe Fernandez of Little Meadows, Pa; a sister-in-law: Mary Vandervort; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins also survive. Roy was predeceased by his parents Clarence E. and Esther Vandervort; long-time companion, Sharon Short; his brothers: Clarence Edward Vandervort, Jr; Sgt. Kenneth Vandervort, Norman Vandervort and brother-in-law, Arden Carrington. Family and friends are invited to attend a service of remembrance on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 4pm at the Warren Center Community Building. A meal and time of sharing will follow at the community building.
