Ruth J. Rought

Ruth J. Rought, 92, of Nichols and formerly of Binghamton, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Elderwood at Tioga Health Care Facility in Waverly. She was born on October 24, 1919 in Windham, Pa a daughter of the late Byron and Frances Jacobs. Ruth was a graduate of the LeRaysville High School class of 1937 and many will remember her as a waitress at many area hotels. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Richard Rought; brother Robert Jacobs and sister Jeanne Mason. She is survived by her sister Yvonne Cole of Nichols; brother Richard (Janice) Jacobs of Warren Center, William Jacobs of Haines City, Fla; sister-in-law: Marie Jacobs of Windham; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, September 8th from 12 to 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial services will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Valley Home Cemetery.
