Samuel R. Mckean

Samuel R. McKean, 72, of Route 17 C, Barton, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his home. He was born on December 20, 1937 in Shohola, Pennsylvania one of ten children to Rose C. (Sparks) and Samuel McKean, Sr. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, handcrafting wood items, caning, and participating in Shuffleboard with his friends. He will be greatly missed by his six children and his extended family. Sam is survived by his children: Paul (Robin) McKean of Denver, NC: David McKean of Smithboro; Debbie (Richard) Moore of Nichols; Barbara (Gary) Rolfe of Nazareth, Pa; Penny (Jim) Krotzer of Smithboro; Sandy (Tom) Whitcomb of Nichols; his sisters: Ruth Yskamp, June Costanzo and Mary McGrath; his special grandchildren: Paul (Alicia) McKean, David McKean, Melissa McKean, Mindy (James Dougherty) Moore; Scott Moore, Danielle Moore; Gregory Rolfe, Mt. Ranger Timothy (Samantha Morris) Rolfe, Samantha Rolfe, Amber (Fianc David Rogers) Krotzer, Samuel Krotzer, Emily Whitcomb and Rachel Whitcomb; great grandchildren: Dominick, Austin, Jordan and Aiden; several nieces, nephews, among them special nephews John McGrath and Raymond McKean; and many friends also survive. Sam was predeceased by his parents Samuel Sr. and Rose C. McKean; his wife and mother of his children Barbara J. McKean, siblings Esther, Carl, Grant, Paul, Henry, Hugh and a grandson Bobby Krotzer.
