A Mother holds her children's hands for a while…their hearts forever. Our loving mother and grandmother, Sandra I. Curtis, 70, of Dean St., Owego, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2009 following a period of declining health. Sandra is survived by her children: Rick Curtis of Trumansburg; Sherry Pike of Sherburne; and Vicki (Larry) Shafer of Endicott; a brother Gordon McNeil of Candor; brother-in-law Glenn Hartman of Owego; grandchildren: Rachael Curtis, Jan (Jenna) Donnelly, Christopher Pike; a great grandchild Aiden Riley Donnelly; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families also survive. Sandra was predeceased by her parents Archie and Olive (Clark) McNeil; siblings: Mary Blinn, Liz Hartman and Clara Burgess. Sandra was born on April 27, 1939 in the Town of Barton, NY. She was a graduate of Candor High School Class of 1958. A devoted Mother and Grandmother, Sandra also enjoyed embroidery and bowling. Funeral services and a time of remembering the special gift Sandra was to all of us will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Mitch Mullenax, officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Lounsberry. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 6-8 pm at the funeral chapel.
