Sharon Grace Tiffany

November 11, 1957 — June 26, 2024

To Whom it may concern,

I take pause to remember and reflect, and say a few interesting words about my Sister:

Sharon Grace Tiffany, age 66, passed away peacefully, in her home in Nichols, New York 13812, on or about June 6th, 2024. Born November 11, 1957, at Ideal Hospital, in Endicott, New York, She was the daughter of Clarence Charles Tiffany, and Shirley Katherine Gillespie Tiffany, (of the Oneonta, New York Tiffany’s), most recently of Nichols, who, faithfully, will greet her at Jesus’ feet in heaven.

Sharon was a 1975 honors graduate of Tioga Central High School, in Tioga Center, New York. Well known for her academic prowess, she went on to graduate from the Veterinary Science program at SUNY Delhi, the Computer Science program at Binghamton University, and earned her Master’s Degree in Computer Science at the University of Phoenix.

After working as a veterinary technician in Elmira, New York, she went on to serve both the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Homeland Security in positions of great responsibility. She also worked in telecommunications, and her team was instrumental in transitioning cell phone service from the 3G, to the more modern, at that time, 4G network.

She was a trouble-shooter for the computerized drones monitoring the Southwest border, among many other unpublicized, and secret accomplishments.

One of my favorite memories of her is when we both attended SUNY Delhi together. We would, on occasion, go dancing at the “Fleetwood” nightclub in Oneonta, when we could catch a ride over the mountain. We would disco dance together, when we couldn’t find a date. If she had ever had a daughter, she wanted to name her “Briana”, after the Fleetwood Mac song of the same title. Every time I hear the song “Come Dancing”, by The Kinks (1982), it brings me to tears. Our Niece Mallary once told me: “Let us remember the good times,” and cherish her accomplishments.

She was pre-deceased by her two brothers: Eric Rance of North Hollywood, California, and William (Bill) Clark Tiffany of Barton and Florida.

She is survived by her brother Gregory of Ithaca,  New York, and Sharon’s cousins’ Jackie of New Berlin, New York; Kenneth, of Crary, North Carolina; and Mark, of Yuca, California.

My special Thanks to both of my nieces Mallary, and Elizabeth of New Hampshire for helping me through this personally difficult transition. Sharon has many other living nieces and nephews in New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Slovakia, and California. Her sister-in-law Susan Tiffany lives in Florida. Although Sharon was married, she (sadly) was never able to have children of her own. She was a cancer survivor.

She was a hero in both life, and death, overcoming adversity. She was a friend to animals, fostering 6 cats in her home. She was an avid reader of romance novels, and her collection of over 1500 books will be donated to the “Friends of The Library”, in her name. Her clothes will be donated to the Methodist Church in Tioga Center, the proceeds from which will be used to provide for the children of Tioga Central School district. She will be honored by your donations to Stray Haven in Waverly. So, even in death, she still reaches out to help Her community. God is Great! Glory to God! We’ll see you all again someday soon enough.

In Loving Memory,

Your Brother,

Greg.
