Sharon Kay Cunningham, 81, of Nichols, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. Born on January 23, 1944, in Sayre, Pa a daughter of the late Warren and Daisy A. Lattimer. Sharon's life was a testament to her strength, resilience, and dedication to those she loved.
Sharon's journey as the first female cop in California marked a significant milestone in the history of law enforcement. Her pioneering spirit paved the way for countless women to pursue their dreams in a field that had been, until her arrival, a male-dominated arena. Her courage and commitment to justice were not only exemplary but also an inspiration to all who knew her story. Sharon also served the community of the Ozarks.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sharon was a woman of many passions. Her love for painting was more than just a hobby; it was a way of connecting with her loved ones and the world around her.
