Sheila A. Middleton

Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we'll miss you until we meet again... Shelia A. Middleton, 79, of Nichols passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at her home. Sheila was born on November 2, 1942 in Towanda, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Blake Gerald and Mildred M. (Brown) Gavitt. For nearly twenty-five years, many were greeted with Sheila's warm and friendly smile as they visited Nichols National Bank and later Community Bank. Following her retirement, she continued her love for bookkeeping as she served as the Treasurer for the Town and Village of Nichols. On March 13, 2020 Sheila's heart was broken when her husband Al passed away. Together they enjoyed traveling all over the United States, and had visited every state except Hawaii on their motorcycle. The mornings were complete when they would have morning coffee visits at Gail's Diner and solved all the world's problems. Sheila will be greatly missed by her children: her son David Middleton; her daughter Robin Campbell; her grandsons: Ryan and Randy Campbell; a brother Gary Gavitt; sisters: Sandra Henline and Sharon Witt. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Sheila was predeceased by her parents, her husband C. Alton "Al" Middleton; a son-in-law: Ronald G. Campbell; brothers-in-law: William Henline and Ed Witt. Abiding with Sheila's wishes there will be no services.
