Stacy H. Baker (Huffcut) passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of cancer at UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, NY, on February 17, 2026. Born on January 26, 1970, at Ideal Hospital in Endicott, NY, Stacy’s life was characterized by faith, motherhood, kindness, and artistry.
Stacy is survived by her husband, Stanley Baker, mother and stepfather Sherry and Robert Middleton, siblings Christopher (Sherri) Campfield and Valerie (Steven, Olivia) Deming, children Justin (Laina) Race, Tyler Race, Adrian (Tara) Race, Amanda (AJ) Sepelak, Micah Gorsline, and Samantha Baker, grandchildren Adri Wilkins, Isaiah Race, Onyx Race, Levi Sepelak, Ozzy Race, Zoey Race, and Cooper Sepelak, and former step-mother Rebecca (Dave) Maney. Stacy was pre-deceased in August by her father Stephen. Stacy will be missed dearly by her family and many friends, as well as her co-workers at Together for Youth.
Stacy’s journey of motherhood started in 1990 at the age of 20. She was blessed to have five children who loved her dearly. She also gained another daughter through her marriage to Stanley, and three other sons and daughters through her children's marriages. She devoted her life to raising her kids through examples of strength and faith. She was very involved in their lives whether it was schooling, sports, or her grandkids; she never wanted to miss a moment. She would always affectionately tell her kids, “I love you more than you love me.”
Stacy moved through the world with an unshakable optimism. After graduating from Northeast Bradford High School and Davis College, she was inspired by God to work with children within the foster care system. Stacy and Stanley welcomed foster children in their home. She had a passion to help others and poured her energy into her work, dedicating her time to invest in people. She had a great ear for listening and a bold voice to share the good news of Jesus.
Stacy was a wonderful artist who enjoyed sharing her creations with others. Although she was gifted in many areas, she found lots of joy using watercolors to capture the beauty in this world.
We will gather for a celebration of Stacy’s life on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at West Windsor Baptist Church, 166 North Road, Windsor, NY 13865. The family will be available for greetings at 3:30pm, with a memorial celebration service at 4pm. Pastor Nate Edwards will officiate. Memories may be shared by visiting her guestbook at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com
Stacy’s life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, filled with faith, love and grace. Stacy’s memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family requests that memorial donations be directed to Gigi’s Playhouse, 223 Reynolds Rd., Johnson City, NY 13790 in loving memory of Stacy H. Baker.
