Stanley J. Siminski, 75

of Nichols

Stanley J. Siminski, lovingly known as Stan, passed away peacefully at his home in Nichols, NY on July 23, 2023. Born on July 11, 1948, in Scarborough, Maine, a son of the late Michael and Catherine (Googins) Siminski. Stan lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who knew him with his gentle and wise nature.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Susan, and their children: daughter Janine Dodge and her husband, Barry; son Marc Slater; and sons Stanley and Scott Smith. His legacy will live on in his grandchildren: Kyle Slater, Jordan Slater, and Gerald Dodge, who is married to Kimberly Tarbox, as well as his great-granddaughters Lindsey and Alana Dodge, who will remember him as the great grandpa who always had a smile and a warm hug for them. Stan also leaves behind a brother, two sisters, and his faithful dog, Tito, who was his constant companion and partner in crime.

Stan will be fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Larry and Bonnie Slater, Shirley and Alan Robertson, Pat and Brian Zorn, Deb Slater, and Scott and Kim Slater. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Chuck Slater. Stan spent his career as a Horse Valet, working at various race tracks along the east coast. His dedication to his work was evident in the care he took with each horse he tended to, and his passion for the sport was infectious to all who met him.

An avid card player, Stan was a regular participant in the American Legion Pitch Tournament. He was also a dedicated Red Sox fan, often found cheering on his favorite team with friends and family. Stan found serenity in the peaceful solitude of fishing, and he loved nothing more than taking his dog, Tito, for rides in the car, exploring the beautiful countryside together.

Stan was the epitome of a loving, wise, and gentle soul. His kindness and generosity were unparalleled, and he had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel special and loved. His quiet wisdom was a source of comfort and guidance to many, and his gentle demeanor made him a friend to all.  Stan was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the company of loved ones, the thrill of a well-played game, the tranquility of a quiet fishing spot, and the companionship of his loyal dog. His gentle wisdom and loving nature left an indelible imprint on the hearts of those who knew him.

In the words of the well-known author, Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Stan's life was a testament to this sentiment, filled with moments that brought smiles to the faces of those around him. His memory will continue to inspire smiles as we remember a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to touch lives for generations to come.
