Stanley E. Rice

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever ~ Our loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Stanley E. Rice, 63, of Towanda, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Stan was born on May 22, 1954 in Sayre, Pa a son of Marjorie and the late Leland E. Rice. He enjoyed bird watching, playing board games, shopping at Tractor Supply ~ although his greatest enjoyment was when he was surrounded by his family. Those left to cherish Stan's memory are his mother Marjorie M. Rice of Orwell Hill, Rome, Pa; his siblings: Marie Chubbuck of Montrose, Pa; John and Linda Rice of Avon, NY; Marlene and Robert Hammerly of Sayre, Pa; Marian and Bill Cherry of Johnson City, NY; Cindy and Gregory VanDunk of Wyalusing, Pa; Becky Wood of Fresno, CA; Theresa and Jeffery Field of Rome, Pa; Christine and Bernard Jones of Beach Island, SC; Michael Rice of Rome, Pa; Lee and Sonya Rice of Bogart, GA; a special friend Janet Wagner of Towanda, Pa; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces and nephews also survive. Stan was welcomed into heaven by his grandparents: EC and Eunice Rice; his father Leland E. Rice (January 2015), brothers Wendell "Dutch" W. Noble (April 1999), Lloyd Rice (February 2003) Stuart Rice (August 1957); nephew Scott Moore (October 1997), brother-in-law: Lynn Chubbuck ( January 1995) brother-in-law Michael "Woody" Wood (September 2004) Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, August 24th from 11 to 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of Stan's life will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Richard Vieldhouse, officiating.
