Susan M. Kemp

A mother holds her child's hand for a little while and their hearts forever……Susan M. Kemp, 47, of Owego went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 23, 2012 following a brief battle with Cancer. Susan is survived by her parents Russell and Margaret Edwards, her daughters: Jessica Kemp and Samantha Kemp; a sister Loretta and her husband Kelly Phillips and their children Mya and Logan; several aunts and uncles, among them a special aunt who was like a sister to Susie, Christine Campbell; numerous cousins and their families also survive; along with six special cats. Susan was predeceased by her maternal grandparents: Irvin T. and Arlene Smith; paternal grandparents : Clyde and Blanche Edwards; an infant brother Russell Clyde Edwards, Jr. Susan was born in Sayre, Pa on December 16, 1964 a daughter of Russell and Margaret Edwards. She was a graduate of Owego Free Academy class of 1983 and currently working on receiving her Psychology degree from the University of Phoenix. Susan was an employee of Endicott Research until her health declined. She enjoyed spending time in her flower and rock gardens, was an avid reader, collecting antiques ~ although her greatest pleasure was being with her girls. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Thursday, July 26th from 2 to 4 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service and celebration of her life will follow at 4pm.
