Tammy L. Vanderpool
of Wyalusing, PA
Tammy L. (Rhodes) Vanderpool, a beacon of kindness and love, left this world on February 10, 2024, at the age of 57. Born on January 16, 1967, in Endicott, NY, she passed away surrounded by love in Sayre, PA, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be cherished by her family, friends, and all the creatures she adored.
Tammy attended school in Newark Valley, where she cultivated a multitude of friendships that endured throughout her life. Her laughter and joy were infectious, creating memories that her friends would carry with them like precious keepsakes.
Family was the cornerstone of Tammy's world. As a devoted mother, Tammy's world was brightened by the presence of her children, her son and daughter-in-law: Dustin and Hope Brawley, and daughter and son-in-law: Ambur and Kevyn Thurston. She found her greatest joy in being a grandmother to her special grandchildren, Kaydynce, Saleen, and Zayndr Brawley, as well as Zeryk and Lucas Thurston. The bond she shared with her siblings—Jeff Rhodes, Dusty Rhodes, Blaine (Amanda) Rhodes, Daryll Sackett, Kit (Kerri) Kithcart—was unbreakable, and they will hold her memory dear. Her stepmother, Donna Caciola, uncle Denny Rhodes, aunt Dee Styles, and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, are left to treasure the moments they were fortunate enough to share with Tammy. Her beloved pets, Bubba the dog and Oreo the cat, were her constant companions, offering comfort and unconditional love. Tammy was predeceased by her parents: Frederick D. Thodes; her mother Sandy (Davis) Sackett; her siblings: Shaine Rhodes and A.J. Rhodes.
Tammy's passion for life was evident in her love for animals. She found solace in the company of her cherished pets and treasured every moment spent with them. Her home was a sanctuary not just for her family but for every creature that was graced by her nurturing spirit.
Those who knew Tammy would describe her as the epitome of loving, kind, and thoughtful. Her actions spoke volumes, and her ability to listen and genuinely care for others was a gift she freely gave. It was often said that to be loved by Tammy was to know true kindness, and to love her in return was an honor.
A quote by Helen Keller captures the essence of Tammy's approach to life: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart." Tammy lived by these words, touching the hearts of everyone she met with her sincere affection and genuine care. Tammy's leaving from this life marks not an end but a continuation of her spirit through the love she instilled in her family. As the seasons change and the years pass, her memory will live on, a gentle reminder to all of us to approach each day with compassion and to cherish the bonds we form with those around us.

May we all strive to carry forward the legacy she leaves behind, one of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness, for in doing so, we keep her spirit alive within us.
