Thelma Marie Shirley

Thelma Marie Shirley of Tioga Center, NY Thelma Marie Shirley, 82, of Dry Brook Rd., (Barton) passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Thelma was born on March 18, 1933 in Owego, a daughter of the late Ray E. and Ella R. (Anderson) Nelson. She was a member of the Owego Nazarene Church and enjoyed listening to gospel music and audio books. Thelma is survived by her friend and caregiver Linda Spitale and family of Barton; her nieces: Kay Lundstrom, Kathy Kirschbaum, BJ Patton, Vicki Whitlow, Pamela Kutka, Taffy Wintermute and their families also survive. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, a sister Lois Marian Newhart and a brother Leon Nelson. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, September 16th from 10 - 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services will follow at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Tioga Cemetery.
