Tina Rose Byrd

Tina Marie Rose-Byrd, a beloved member of the Ithaca community, born on July 7, 1973, in Broward County, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2024, surrounded with love by family and friends, at the age of 51 in Nichols, NY. Daughter of the late Linda and Alfred Rose, and sister to the late Tammy Harris, Tina was a beacon of love and strength, cherished by many.

A loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, nana & friend. Tina was survived by her two sons, DJ Pitts, & Isaiah Butler (Bethany Butler), and brother Terry Rose. Her grandchildren, Julian Fisher, Audrianna & Kianna Pitts, Za'Lyliah Butler, Jesiyah & Tristen Young, which brought her so much joy. Tina is also survived by her husband, Donald Byrd; her nieces, Mariah Rose, Danielle Lee, & Jasmine Lee Rose (Christopher Zavala), her nephews, Jordan and Tre Harris & her great niece and nephews, Aaliyah Lee-Bayor, La-mari Froster, and Leondro Rose-Zavala.

Known for her infectious sass, unwavering optimism, and unparalleled work ethic, Tina was a shining light to all who knew her. Her career was marked by exceptional customer service and genuine care for others. With a passion for fashion, particularly shoes, Tina always presented herself with impeccable style.

Outside of work, Tina's world revolved around her cherished family, close friends, and her beloved dog, Roscoe. Even as she courageously battled stage 4 pancreatic cancer, her spirit remained unbroken. Her strength and grace in the face of adversity inspired all.

A celebration of Tina's life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared on her Facebook page. In place of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in Tina's memory to support the fight against pancreatic cancer.
