Traci Ann (Cook) Chatterton, affectionately known as Traci to her friends and family, passed away peacefully in her Rome, Pa home on the first day of January 2026, with her beloved cat Bean by her side. Born on July 27, 1972, in Sayre, Pa, Traci's life was a tapestry of love, adventure, and unwavering dedication to the things she cared about most.

Traci's early life in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania set the stage for her lifelong love of animals and the great outdoors. A proud graduate of Northeast Bradford High School, Class of 1990, Traci shone brightly as a majorette and was deeply involved in the Bradford County 4-H, where she enjoyed showing the families registered jerseys with her father. Together, they won many awards and the legacy of the jersey breeding from the farm continues with a close family friend Kathy Cole.  Her high school years also saw her crowned as Maple Queen, a testament to her community spirit and charm.

Throughout her life, Traci's work ethic and friendly demeanor touched many lives. Her career path included meaningful roles at the First National Bank in Sayre, tending bar at Beeman’s, and was employed at Good Shepherd Fairview Nursing Home in Binghamton. Her educational journey was a testament to her lifelong love for animals, as she was currently continuing her studies at Penn Foster to become a Vet Tech, a dream that she was passionately pursuing.

A woman of diverse interests, Traci's zest for life was contagious. She found joy in barrel racing with Laura Warner and her sister Kandi, and she was a familiar face at rodeos with Kandi at Leo Gee's. Traci's culinary adventures took her from the kitchens of Singapore, Hawaii, and Australia back to her own, where she delighted in recreating the native cuisines she had savored. Her love for travel also took her to the serene shores of Martha's Vineyard and the vibrant city of Las Vegas and Nashville. She also had a love for the beach which was a source of solace and she could reflect on her many blessings.

Traci's friendships were as enduring as her love for animals. She cherished the bonds she formed with Laura Warner, Tracy and Terri Shaffer, sharing in the camaraderie of showing horses and cows at local fairs. Childhood friend Tonya Meek held a special place in Traci's heart, as they often reminisced about their youth during their casino visits.

Traci’s memory will be missed by her sister Kandi Cook and Kandis fur babies Rein and Cinch, her sister, Holli and her husband Leon Mosier; her grandmother, Jane Kittle; aunts Beverly Skalanka and Laura Kittle; her father's companion, Janie Pratt; and her niece, Allison (Patrick) Murphy; her step daughters Loren Chatterton and Sarah Asenjo. Numerous cousins and friends also survive her, each carrying a piece of her vibrant spirit. Traci was predeceased by her parents, Patricia (Kittle) and Everett S. Cook, Jr., her grandfather Duane Kittle, paternal grandparent Everett and Minnie Cook and several aunts and uncles.

Those who knew Traci will remember her as loving, friendly, and adventurous. Her life was a testament to the words of Helen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." Traci lived by this creed, embracing every moment with courage and enthusiasm.
