Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear….Our hearts were broken on Sunday morning, February 28, 2016 as our Dad and Grandpa, Vernon Percy Coyle, 81, of Oak Hill Rd, Barton went to his heavenly home. Vernon was born on December 23, 1934 in Candor, NY a son of the late Percy and Leora (Hover) Coyle. On February 12, 1954 he married Phyllis A. Johnson and together they celebrated nearly sixty years of marriage until her passing on January 27, 2014. A hard working and dedicated man, Vernon was employed in construction. He worked at various businesses to include: Parlor City Construction, D.W. Winkelman, Lane Construction, MA Shannon Mining, C.C. Concrete, Austin Excavating, Simonds Excavating, and State Line Auto. He enjoyed attending area races and actively participated in racing from 1957 to 1973 with his 1-X car ~ having over 100 wins was a great achievement to him. Vernon enjoyed tending to his garden, but mostly treasured the time he would spend with his special grandchildren whether it was watching them participate in sports or a friendly visit at his home. Friday nights were found sharing amongst friends at Fraley's Auctions ~ his gentle ways and caring smile will be greatly missed. Vernon will be greatly missed by his children: his son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Patti Coyle; his son Rick Coyle; daughter and son-in-law: Melissa and Paul Emerson all of Barton; the apples of his eye, his special grandchildren: Jason Coyle, Tom Coyle, Chase (Laura) Emerson and Katee Emerson. His sister Barbara Hoover; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Marlene Coyle; Mary and Clint Benjamin; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Vernon was predeceased by his wife Phyllis; daughter-in-law Shari Coyle; brother David Coyle; sister and brother-in-law: Margaret and Rodney Myers; brother in law: Robert Hoover. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, March 4th from 4pm to 6 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service and celebration of his life will follow at 6 pm with Pastor Anne B. Canfield, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Barton Cemetery.
