Wallace I. Knepper, affectionately known as Wally, passed away on October 14, 2025, at his home in Allentown, Pennsylvania, at the age of 87. Born on April 9, 1938, in Weatherly, PA, Wally devoted his life to education, community service, and family. He was a longtime resident of Levittown, PA, where he raised his family, and of Warren Center, PA, where he spent his retirement.
Wally spent 35 years as a dedicated high school chemistry teacher in Bucks County, inspiring countless students with his passion for science and learning. He also served as a swim coach at Bensalem High School, where he guided young athletes with patience and encouragement. An instructor for the American Red Cross, Wally imparted essential lifesaving skills to many, fostering a legacy of care and preparedness.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Wally was a man of diverse interests. A world traveler, he embraced other cultures and new experiences with enthusiasm. In the kitchen, he was an excellent cook, delighting family and friends with his culinary creations. As a devoted "cat dad," Wally cherished the companionship of his feline friends.
Wally was a member of the Warren Township Volunteer Fire Company in Warren Center for many years, where he was a familiar face alongside his wife at the annual Firemen’s Field Days.
He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Melanie (Liller). Wally is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia; his cherished daughter Lyn (Chesna); and his adored granddaughter Alessandra Liller.
The family has chosen to hold private services to honor Wally's memory. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Wally’s legacy of service and compassion, donations may be made to the Warren Township Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 24, Rome, PA 18837. Wally's warmth, wisdom, and humor touched the lives of many. His entertaining stories, jokes, and tall tales will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
