Walter L. Richart

When someone you love becomes a memory…the memory becomes a treasure ~ Walter L. Richart, 72, of Horseheads passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Corning Guthrie Hospital. Walter was born on June 30, 1945 in Susquehanna, Pa a son of the late Lawerence Leonard and Lila Ruth (Henderson) Richart. Walt was a member of the Nichols Fire Department, the Cayuta Hose Company and the Wellsburg Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking, puzzles, puzzle books and assisting on the family farm in Nichols. Walter is survived by his wife Francella Rose Richart; his siblings: Linda (Harry) Packer of Alpine, NY; Michael (Sharon) Richart of Waverly; Pat (Denny) Washburn of Nichols; a sister-in-law: Pamela Gleason; step children: Penny Evans, Anita Jessmore and Brian Spicer; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, September 15th from 3 to 5 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
