Wayne A Allis, 82 of Rome, PA passed away on Feb 11th, 2026 at the SNU in Towanda, PA following a period of declining health. He was the son of Rodney B. and E Marie (Wurtenburg) Allis.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Judy of 57 years and son, Lonny of Munds Park, AZ. He is also survived by his sisters, who loved him deeply and will remember him always, Dorla Merritt, Marilyn (Michael) Brainard, Donna (Jon) Park; Brothers Kevin (Sally) Allis & Kenny (Anna) Allis; Sisters-in-law Janet Allis, Marcia Parks, Lois Ennis, Lora Antisdel; Brother-in-law Lyle Fassett & Linda Sanarsky, a forever family friend who helped with his care for the past 2+ years. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Brother Norman, brothers-in-law Charles Merritt, Bud Parks, Leigh Antisdel, Bill Ennis and a sister-in-law Joan Fassett.
Wayne graduated from Northeast Bradford High School Class of 1961. He served with pride in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. He was a SP4, E4 upon his Honorable discharge. He was employed for 30 years at the Ingersoll Rand, Athens, PA as a New Product Engineer and retired in 1994 at the age of 51, a goal he strived for and achieved. He was a lifetime member (57 years) of the Sayre Elks BPOE #1148, the Towanda Gun Club and the VFW 1568 Towanda, PA. He was also a member of the American Legion, the AMVETS and Moose International. He immensely loved singing karaoke and was especially proud of the professional recording studio CD that he recorded while in Arizona. He enjoyed many winters in Florida at Holiday Travel Park. Also, visiting Lonny and Jim & Ellen Gunn of Rome, PA in Arizona. His hobbies included hunting, darts and going to clam bakes with his extended family and friends. Wayne's adventurous spirit was perhaps best displayed in his love for NASCAR. A true enthusiast, he reveled in the excitement of attending races at Dover, where the speed and energy of the events mirrored his approach to life—full throttle and with a heart full of passion.
A service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 (which would have been his 83rd birthday) at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 pm at the funeral home with a celebration of his life following.
