William B. Jacobs 93, of Leominster, Massachusetts, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the Health Alliance Leominster Hospital following a illness. He was born on January 26, 1922, in Windham, Pennsylvania the son of the late Byron G. and Frances (Champlin) Jacobs. He attended school in Windham Center. William proudly served his country with the United States Army and was a Veteran of WWII. He earned the Purple Heart, Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Infantryman's Badge, Four Battle Stars, Defense Service Ribbon, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon. William was employed by the U.S. Government at Fort Devens as a Tank and Truck mechanic and engine repair. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, a lifetime member of the D.A.V., and British American Club. William is survived by his son Michael Jacobs of Vermont, a daughter Cheryl Lanciani of Leominster, a brother and sister-in-law Richard and Janice Jacobs of Warren Center, Pennsylvania, a sister Yvonne Cole of Nichols, New York, sister-in-law: Marie Jacobs of Windham, Pa; his grandchildren Paul Lanciani, Scott Lanciani, Ryan Jacobs, Devon Jacobs, his great-grandchildren Stephanie Lanciani, Paul Lanciani III, Anthony Lanciani, Andrew Lanciani and Lillian Jacobs. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Ouellette) Jacobs April 18, 1988, his daughter Linda M. Jacobs, his grandson Craig Lanciani; sisters Ruth Rought, Jeanne Mason and a brother Robert Jacobs.
