Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all…..William L. "Bill" Simpson, 60 of Tioga Center passed away on Monday morning, June 30, 2014 following a period of declining health. Bill was born on April 27, 1954 in Las Cruces, New Mexico a son of the late Robert and Alice Pearl (Wagner) Simpson. He was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1972-1976. On May 10, 1993 he married Shirley Amey and together they celebrated 21 years of marriage. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and was a "true jack of all trades" He treasured his family and will be greatly missed by his wife Shirley; his daughter Kendra Simpson, a son Dakota Simpson; granddaughter Aubriella; his siblings: James, Robert, Ricky, Lewis, Patsy and Barbara. His brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Paul and Doris Ketcham, Brian and Pauline Bailey, Mary Stedge, Fred Amey; many nieces, nephews, friends and his canine companions Roxie, Dorrie, Fido and Nemo also survive. Bill was predeceased by his parents Robert and Alice Simpson and a sister Roberta. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, July 3rd from 1-2 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service will follow at 2 pm with Pastor Donna Martin, officiating.
